Introduction on Decision Table

The process of choosing from various choices, products or ideas, and then taking action in relation to this choice in order to bring about a desired solution. Define the situation, generate alternatives, information gathering, information gathering, selection and action are the necessary stages for good decision making. Decision tables are generally divided into four quadrants (Condition, condition alternatives, action, and action entries). A decision table lists causes and effects in a matrix. Each column represents a unique combination. Decision tables, like if-then-else and switch-case statements, associate conditions with actions to perform. But, unlike the control structures found in traditional programming languages, decision tables can associate many independent conditions with several actions in an elegant way. In this paper I will implement a decision table for DHL (post services) from Germany to Australia.

DHL provides 2 Packages to send packet from Germany to Australia
1 Normal with two options

· Small package (max 2kg) - in this small package service it takes normally less than 30 days to reach the goods. If you want to send with premium service it takes around 10-15 days but there is additional cost. Beside the weight and the time, there is rule regarding dimension of the packet which you can see below in the fig.

If you want to donate money for the environment (go green) or in case your packet is undelivered and want it back (Sender instruction), there is an additional cost

Normal Packet (max 20kg)-In this Normal Package service it takes normally less than 10 to 12 days and 6 to 8 days with premium service. Dhl has set the Normal Package as a standard service to send a packet to all over the world. Regarding the weight of the Packet such as 5Kg 10Kg and 20Kg.all services are offered same as above mentioned in small package and plus some extra services which are as following below:
- Bulky Goods (when packet dimension is bigger than normal package standard)
- Insurance (when package is damaged or lost)

Express Package (3 Days)
In this Express package normally it takes 3 days to reach the goods to the receiver. 500 euro insurance is already including with this package. Below fig shows the price list for the express package.
